The First Tee of Benton Harbor held its first Nancy Tennant Golf & Leadership Academy in July 2015. This marked the first Golf & Leadership Academy in the Great Lakes Region. The academy highlights golf and leadership, while tying in The First Tee’s Life Skills, Core Values and Healthy Habits. The First Tee of Benton Harbor welcomes 20 The First Tee participants from five different The First Tee locations across the Midwest.
Participants participate in leadership activities, golf at three different championship golf courses and present a leadership project to a judging panel.
The First Tee of Benton Harbor uses golf to teach youth life lessons and leadership skills. Sessions include a fun, group setting for youth ages 5 through senior year of high school regardless of background or previous experience. Teaming up with experts in positive youth development, The First Tee of Benton Harbor helps youth become good golfers and even better people.
Please join us Friday, August 25, 2017 at Harbor Shores Golf Club for this 9th annual 2–person better ball and 2-person scramble event. The invitation is open to sponsors and players for this limited field, 48–team event.
All proceeds from the event support The First Tee of Benton Harbor and the more than 4,000 local youth who benefit from the educational programs that build character, instill life–enhancing values, and promote future potential through the game of golf.
