Ryan Burns, Program Director and Jim Campbell, Program Coach were recently awarded one of the highest coaching certifications in The First Tee program. Both coaches completed Level III training and now qualify as a The First Tee Coach!
Coach Burns and Coach Campbell are now part of a select group of coaches across The First Tee network that are the key behind the success of our programs.
“Being a coach at The First Tee of Benton Harbor is something I am extremely proud of. Everyday I have a chance to make a positive impact on the young people in our community by using the great game of golf as an avenue to instill The First Tee’s Nine Core Values, Life Skills, and Nine Healthy Habits,” said Coach Burns. “In the six years I have been a part of The First Tee of Benton Harbor, we have added a number of programs and opportunities to better serve our young people, which has allowed the number of our participants to grow, and quality of our program improve to one of the strongest The First Tee chapters in the country. I am honored to say I have been a small part of building our program to what it has become today and look forward to even further success in the coming months and years.”
“I think the best part about being a coach at The First Tee of Benton Harbor is the relationships you develop with all of the different families. It’s also great to see kids develop over the years and turn into valuable members of society,” said Coach Campbell. “Another great part of my job is working in our classroom at the Boys & Girls Club of Benton Harbor. As our participants grow up, I really enjoy going to their sporting events and extracurricular activities outside of golf. I really try to support our participants in any way that I can.”
Coach Burns and Coach Campbell continue to leave a positive mark on The First Tee of Benton Harbor and work extremely hard to ensure participants are getting the best instruction possible.
